Since the original announcement of Fallout 4 at Bethesda’s E3 conference last year, we have known that mods would be coming to the Xbox One version of the game. After today’s livestream, we have discovered that they will be landing on the system much earlier than expecting, actually hitting next week on Tuesday, May 31. They’ve even included a website where you can browse which mods you would like to download onto your system.
They have made it extremely easy to active mods in your game. After linking your Bethesda.net account to your system, you will simply choose the “mods” option from the main menu of the game. During the Twitch livestream Bethesda revealed that you will only be allowed to have 2GB of mods installed on your Xbox One at any one time. If you want to add more, you will need to delete older mods to make room. For all of you achievement hunters out there, it is also important to mention that all achievements will be turned off while the mods are active.
If you are worried about a mod corrupting your save data, Bethesda has thought of that as well. When you active mods in your game, Fallout 4 will create a separate save file that will be used. If for some reason the mod decides to crash your game, you can always revert back to your original non-mod save to continue where you last left off.
So, will you be checking out mods in Fallout 4 on your Xbox One? Or will stick with the original? Let us know in the comments down below!
