Valkyria Revolution, the spin-off from the Valkyria Chronicles series, has been rated ‘T’ for teen by the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board). The game was given this rating for containing blood, language, sexual themes, use of alcohol, and violence. Here’s the full ESRB rating description –
This is an action/role-playing game in which players control soldiers involved in a conflict between two fictional kingdoms. Characters engage in combat missions and use swords, guns, grenades, and magic attacks to defeat soldiers and boss characters. Some attacks result in small splashes of blood; cutscenes occasionally depict larger splashes of blood, as when a character is impaled on a sword or slashed. Battles are highlighted by realistic gunfire, cries of pain, and explosions. The game includes some sexual material in the dialogue: “She was a real nympho, that one. She was one hell of a sl*t”; “Be it the bouncing of buxom bosoms or the subtle splendor of smaller sets”; “…a woman’s beauty presents itself fully in her rear!” Several scenes depict characters drunk/hung over and/or talking about alcohol (e.g.,“I haven’t had enough to drink yet! Alcohol! Bring on the alcohol!”). The words “sh*t” and “a*shole” appear in dialogue.
Valkyria Revolution will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in North America on 27th June.
