With E3 just around the corner, there are a ton of awesome games for us all to get excited about. There are sure to be new titles announced at this year’s show, but we will also learn new information about several titles that have already been announced. Over the next week, we will be exploring what games we can look forward to seeing more of, and what we can expect to learn from these upcoming titles.
By all accounts, this is the game that we were all hoping for with the first Battlefront game. 2015’s ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ looked gorgeous and perfectly captured the feel of the Star Wars universe; however, there was no singleplayer campaign, the gameplay was quite shallow, and there wasn’t nearly enough content included in the base package (which was exacerbated by a Season Pass that was far too expensive). This time around, we are promised greater depth to the gameplay, epic space battles, and the inclusion of a full singleplayer campaign.
Because it could easily be the best Star Wars game ever. The first game just needed a little more depth and lots of content to have been up there with the best entries in Star Wars gamedom. With a longer development cycle to create this game, along with the teams at Motive Studios and Criterion Games helping out, content shouldn’t be an issue this time around. The singleplayer campaign also looks set to give us an interesting spin on the Star Wars story as it takes place from the perspective of an Imperial trooper. This has the potential to give us a gripping story full of twists, turns, and differing points of views.
With the game coming out soon, and there currently only being a trailer using game engine footage, we expect a lot of details and footage to be shown. We imagine that there will be a full gameplay trailer as well as a playable demo on the show floor. We should get some more details about the character that you play in the campaign, as well as some of the heroes that you’ll get to play as in the multiplayer. As this is an EA release, we also wouldn’t be surprised to be greeted with full details of a season pass for the game. Whether there will be a tease of content that ties into Episode VIII, only time will tell.
