Farming Simulator 17 launched last year to a lot of praise. Sales for the game shot up like a rocket, with it managing to hit over a million units in under a month. With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that GIANTS Software, the team behind the simulator, is double-dipping this year.
The game will be getting a re-release this November with a new ‘Platinum Edition’/Platinum Expansion. This new version will provide a number of new gameplay experiences: a new South American map complete with unique vegetation, local cows and sugarcane fields and its own railway network. This map will offer a very different experience than the USA-inspired map that’s already in the game.
On top of having a new locale, the Platinum version will also add a variety of new machinery from popular brands that span different countries, bringing the number of vehicles and equipment up to 275 in all from 80 different manufacturers. One new machine in particular is the CASE IH A8800 MR which is used to harvest the new sugar cane crops.
If you already have Farming Simulator 17, then you can download the Platinum Expansion on PC or console (PS4/Xbox One). Alternatively, PC players can buy a boxed version of the expansion if they desire. Those of you with the Season Pass on consoles will be able to download the pack as soon as it’s released. If you do not own the game at all, then you can buy either a physical or digital copy with the base game and the Platinum Expansion on either PC or console.
A price has not yet been announced, but it has been confirmed that the Platinum Expansion will be releasing on November 14th. That’s still a ways away from now, so expect a release date to be announced in the coming months.
