The newest update for Watch Dogs 2 is coming your way next week, and it will be totally free as part of an Independence Day package which includes four player party mode.
You and three friends will be able to free roam around San Francisco and take part in new activities geared specifically toward four players. Your leader board ratings will not be affected either as the mode is meant to be teamwork oriented. This is good news for those of us who have that “one friend” that always decides to go rogue near the end of a mission for fun. Producer Kris Young commented on the new update by saying
“It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a long time. It’s always more fun to be in a team, and the online modes we have are great, but we really wanted to expand on them. We also pay attention to what our community is saying, and it’s something they’ve been clamoring for, so we’re happy to finally make it available to everyone.”
In addition to the new four player party mode, there will also be some various bug fixes and tweaks to optimize gameplay. A month long firework event has been added to let colorful explosions fill the Bay Area sky, and the paintball gun is going to fire red, white and blue pellets. The update was originally part of the No Compromise DLC, but was removed and made a free update after some poor sales numbers.
You can check out the new trailer below, and the update will go live on Xbox One on July 4th.
