Not only will we get to experience the heat and perils of the desert, but also the frigid new area; Frozen North.
The map was shown off yesterday for the first time in a livestream by the team’s Community Manager Jens Vaaler and Creative Director Joel Bylos. Changes to the combat system were also detailed. The dodge roll mechanic has been changed, and players will take more damage from monster enemies. One of the newest changes is the temperature system, which ironically has an in game effect opposite of real life. In colder areas of the North, you’ll need to dress warm or risk injury. If you are not dressed properly, the game will make you drink alcohol to get warm. The funny part is that, of course, in real life alcohol actually makes your body temperature colder. The opposite also holds true, and you’ll need to consume water to cool off in warmer desert temperatures.
The entire stream is about an hour long and features a number of interesting tidbits scattered throughout.
